Q. What is coulomb’s law of electrostatic ?

::::::::::::Answer:::::::::::

First law: according to this law like charges repel and unlike charges attract each other.

Second law:  the force between two charge is directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of distance between then.

  • consider two point charges q1 and q2
  • Separated by a distance ‘r’ in air.
  • Then the force.F between the two charges

F ∝ q1 q2

F ∝  1/r2

F ∝ q1 q2 /r2

Then,

F=k q1 q2 / r2

In ‘SI units’, when two charges are located in air or vacuum     K= 1/4π€0

After all we get :

F=1/4π€0 * q1 q2 /r2
